SendEngage is a B2B marketing engagement platform that enables sales and marketing professionals to identify their target market, acquire new prospects, and retain existing contacts through automated one-to-one, keep-in-touch campaigns. This startup has already released its MVP, which is currently used by beta users for collecting feedback and iterating.

Justin Tinkle, SendEngage’s CEO, reached out to us after a period of researching marketing and sales platforms and concluding that a more complete tool was needed. With a background in sales himself, and having launched another successful business, he was looking for a team that could build SendEngage: a comprehensive solution tailored to meet the diverse needs of marketing and sales professionals.

In his research, Tinkle identified that B2B cold email campaigns have less than a 5% reply rate. It's a strategy that requires a mass approach in order to be successful, which can be very difficult for marketing and sales teams to achieve and manage. In order to gather campaigns and inboxes in one place and be more efficient with sending emails and identifying opportunities, he came up with the idea of SendEngage.

As soon as a potential lead is identified over the campaigns, the platform hands it off to a sales representative via CRM integration or by email, keeping the pipeline alive and in constant growth. This allows marketing and sales teams to collaborate in a more efficient way.

They can create 100% customizable campaigns and add different steps, variables, and messages as they’d like.

Custom Software Design, Dev & QA

For the development of SendEngage, we assembled a multidisciplinary team containing skills from our development, design, SRE, Product Delivery, and QA studios. The engagement started in a technical discovery process, in which our software engineers dedicated themselves to understanding the best approach to connecting with multiple email inboxes and sending massive campaigns without being red-flagged as spam. The logic behind the platform's massivity was built based on this initial research and the team’s desire to perfect it so the app can work as smoothly as possible.

As soon as the technical aspects were validated, our design team worked along with the founder to validate his assumptions and set the right UX and UI for SendEngage. Benchmarking and user interviews were some of the design initiatives we led for this project. We also helped Tinkle define the startup brand by creating its logo, color palette, and other details that feed both the application and its landing page.

In over a year of collaboration, we have grown the team according to the project's needs and supported the startup in its launch to the market. “The quality of Octobot’s work is very good [...] they create quality systems that can endure”, Tinkle expressed in a recent review.

We continue to work on the second version of the MVP, adding new features and adjusting the platform according to the beta users feedback. Nowadays we're exploring the use of AI in SendEngage since we'd like to be able to identify positive feelings towards the campaign's content even faster and with more accuracy.
